Patek Philippe Watch Perfection

In terms of history, watches were first fashioned as miniature version of a regular clock. They were used only by the elite since they are the ones who can afford them. They were made of precious metals like gold or silver that really boasts of the social status of its owner. The watches then were worn by men on the waist since it was held up by a chain. It was also easier to put inside one’s pocket because of its design. The blue bloods can afford to have their watches decked with different fineries imaginable. And then came the professionals, doctors, lawyers, and bankers, who must always keep the time hence the use of this contraption.

It has been said that women were the first to have worn watches on their wrists. With the change of fashion in terms of baring the arms and wearing gowns without sleeves, the design of jewelry also evolved. Watches were placed on bracelets not only to enhance the beauty of the wearer but also to give her something that is useful. However, women’s watches were not known for their precision. Watches were treated as accessories hence, its ability to tell the time correctly was not focused on. They were just used as ornaments

Men followed suit during the war. They were asked to do certain tasks at specific times hence the watches were synchronized. Soldiers were issued their own watches and the most popular design by a clockmaker is still popular until today. Cartier’s design of their famous watch with train tracks is still selling like hotcakes even after a hundred years.

In the 20th century watches for women were given an overhaul. Clockmakers started to make watches for women that were originally precise for men’s watches. Patek Philippe realized that women also need to tell the time correctly just like the men so they planned a Patek Philippe watch that focuses on accuracy especially for women. Most famous artisans changed their strategy and realized that there is also a market for women who were not only look for memorable and delicate pieces but also a timepiece that is accurate. Precision is the name of the game.

The emergence of Swiss watches would attest that a well made watch is what people not only women want. Women need to be on time as well as men. It is not common for females being fashionably late. It became unacceptable because they also started to work in an office like men. Watches for women then became mass produced and made affordable.  Women’s emancipation gave chances for women to be like men that so many products that were only available for men became accessible to women as well.  A good example for that would be a Patek Philippe watch. It is still popular until today because the company has perfected its timepiece technology.
